Youngsters unplug for a day at the park

Largo Central Park was filled with youngsters of all ages who decided to forego TV and video games on April 26 to spend a day playing outdoors.

The third annual “Playing Unplugged...Just What the Doctor Ordered” free, family-friendly event featured a variety of hands-on activities requiring creativity and play stations highlighting physical activities such as tree climbing, zip lining, archery and dance. The purpose behind a day without electronics was to educate parents on the benefits of free play and staying active to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
