Sertoma club donates to local organizations

CLEARWATER — The Clearwater All American Sertoma Club recently awarded seven local agencies with monetary contributions to help people in the area with hearing health issues and educating the public on the issues surrounding hearing health.

The club has made financial contributions to agencies in the community for more than 40 years.

Donations this year went Clearwater YMCA, the Religious Community Services, Morton Plan Hospital Speech and Hearing Center; Sertoma Youth Ranch; the Pinellas Education Foundation; and Kimberly Home for Young Ladies.

The Sertoma club’s initiatives also include SAFEEars!, S.H.A.R.P., Communicative Disorders and Hard of Hearing and Deaf Scholarships, Adopt-an-Agency, and Community Grant programs. They also sponsor community projects to assist youth. The local club, chartered in 1998, meets at the Clearwater country Club, 525 North Betty Ln. For information, call (727) 593-8322.
