Entrepreneur training session attracts more than 300 professionals

Published:

— With less than a month until the Startup Quest Information Session, more than 300 underemployed or unemployed degree holding professionals from the Tampa Bay area have already registered to attend.

Startup Quest, an entrepreneurship training program, connects teams of qualified participants with successful entrepreneurs and business professionals to learn the steps needed to transform an invention or cutting-edge technology into a product for the marketplace. This will be the second training session held in Pinellas County. To date, over 165 Tampa Bay professionals have graduated from this program.

“High enrollment numbers in the program indicate a strong entrepreneurial spirit in the region,” says Ed Peachey, president and CEO of CareerSource Pinellas. “The mindset seems to be shifting from finding a job to job creation.”

The Startup Quest Information Session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Feather Sound Country Club. Advance registration is suggested at http://bit.ly/URom0s. Additional information is available by contacting Kate Head at (813) 397-2060 or headk@careersourcetampabay.com.
