Police surprise carjacking victim with new Bible

— City police surprised a nurse with a Bible at work Monday after hers was stolen during a carjacking last week.

Officers presented Susan Biggs with the Bible during the start of her shift at Morton Plant Hospital, 300 Pinellas St.

Biggs was reading her Bible in the hospital parking lot before she began her shift when she became the victim of a carjacking. Two suspects were later apprehended in Pinellas Park, where the car was abandoned. The car and her purse were returned; however, the Bible was missing.

“They stole my Bible, they took my Bible,” she told police. “I just hope they read it.”

The officers that were involved in the initial call gave her the new Bible with a special engraved cover that reads, “From Your Friends at the Clearwater Police Department.”

She also received another Bible from the Morton Plant Mease Foundation.
