— Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Yandel will headline the city’s annual Maxima Hispanic Heritage Concert on Oct. 12 at Coachman Park in downtown Clearwater.

Yandel is a rapidly-rising solo performer who was previously a member of the successful Latin duo Wisin & Yandel.

A wide array of Latin musical styles such as reggaeton, meringue and salsa will be represented by performers from Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Columbia. Reggaeton is a current musical style that combines urban music with Jamaican reggae and traditional Latin sounds.

The concert is a family-friendly event sponsored by radio station 92.5 Maxima, MetroPCS, and Heineken. The radio station will announce more entertainers and groups performing at this year’s event throughout September and the final performer will be announced on Oct. 6.

Gates will open at noon and performers begin at 1 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate. Children 10 and under are admitted free. To purchase tickets in advance visit 925maxima.com or call 1 (800) 514-3849 and press the number 1. VIP tickets are available for purchase.
